Travvelling home today, we left about 10:45, our stay had been great, the accomodation was brilliant. So we decided to avoid Motorways on the way back.

Sticking to A roads turned out to be a bonus. A dign post said Stamford and I told Ange what a beautiful place it was, so we ended up taking a small diversion to Stamford for a walk around, it was even more beautiful than I remembered. Best of all to my mind, was the fact that the High Street and the shops around the square were all in use with great brands.

A coffee and danish under the shade of the trees near one of the four churches was relaxing, from Stamford we headed for Edith Weston to visit Rutland Water and the site of my old married quarter outside the base (which is MOD North Luffenham now). All of those married quarters have been sold off, I imagine for a lot of money. Being so close to Rutland Water and also Stamford and Oakham would demand a good price.

Lunch at Rutland Water allowed Talu to have a great run and enjoy herself before we set off again on the road home.

We got home around 17:05 and after finding Narla and Pippa (who was very vocal for me to pick her up and make a fuss, oh and to do the usual tour of the garden with her), we started unloading and unpacking. Is there anything more annoying than unpacking - you just know that it is because everything goes back to the normal routine tomorrow.
