Iran was never a threat to anyone except Israel

So, Trump has joined with Netanyahu in attacking Iran claiming that they are a threat to the western world.

Take a step back for a second...

Major attacks inside Iran

  • 3 July 1988 – USS Vincennes shoots down Iran Air Flight 655 over Iranian territorial waters, killing 290 civilians, during the “tanker war” phase of the Iran–Iraq conflict.
  • 3 January 2020 – U.S. drone strike at Baghdad airport kills Iranian general Qassem Soleimani; this is widely treated as a direct U.S. attack on a senior Iranian commander, though it occurred on Iraqi soil.
  • 22 June 2025 – Operation “Midnight Hammer”: U.S. Air Force and Navy bomb three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan during the so‑called Twelve‑Day War.
  • Late June 2025 (reported 22–24 June) – Same campaign described in media as U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear sites following Israeli strikes.
  • 28 February 2026 – Large U.S.–Israeli missile and air campaign on Iran (“Operation Epic Fury”), including strikes that kill senior Iranian officials and hit civilian targets such as a girls’ school in southern Iran.

The U.S. government said the 28 February 2026 attack on Iran (“Operation Epic Fury”) was launched to eliminate what it called an imminent threat from Iran’s nuclear and missile programs and to protect U.S. forces and interests.

Yet, after the attacks in June 2025 they claimed complete success. Some people believe that Iran moved nuclear materials before the June 2025 attacks, but even if they did there are some facts that should be looked at carefully by ALL governments because the facts are important.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

Iran has complied with requests by the IAEA and is has signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), in fact they have complied with requests all down the line:

The key difference is that Iran is under formal, legally binding inspection and reporting requirements by the IAEA, while Israel faces political calls for inspections but no comparable legal obligation or regular access regime.palestinechronicle+2

Iran: legally binding, active inspections

  • Iran is a party to the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and has a comprehensive safeguards agreement with the IAEA, which legally requires it to declare nuclear material and facilities and allow inspections.iaea+2
  • Since 2006, multiple UN Security Council resolutions have demanded that Iran open specific sites and fully cooperate with IAEA inspections, including at sensitive enrichment and fuel‑cycle facilities.reuters+2
  • The IAEA regularly issues detailed reports urging Iran to grant access to all declared and some suspected sites (for example, Isfahan and bombed facilities after the 2025–26 attacks) and to clarify the status of enriched uranium stocks.timesofisrael+3
  • Iran sometimes restricts or conditions access, but it is responding within a framework where inspections are expected, negotiated and reported as (non‑)compliance with clear legal obligations.aljazeera+2

Israel: political pressure, no binding inspections

  • Israel has never joined the NPT, so it is not subject to the full‑scope safeguards system that allows the IAEA to demand access in the way it does with Iran.researchcentre.trtworld+1
  • Israel is an IAEA member, but its non‑NPT status means it has no comprehensive safeguards agreement covering all its nuclear facilities; high‑profile sites such as Dimona remain outside IAEA inspection.palestinechronicle+1
  • A series of UN General Assembly, IAEA General Conference and NPT review‑conference resolutions have called on Israel to place all its nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards and to join the NPT as a non‑nuclear‑weapon state, but these are politically significant rather than enforceable in the way UNSC sanctions resolutions on Iran are.researchcentre.trtworld+1
  • Attempts to secure formal IAEA inspections of Israel’s programme, including a 2015 drive to put its facilities under safeguards, have been blocked or watered down by Western states, reinforcing the perception of a double standard.palestinechronicle+1

Side‑by‑side overview

AspectIranIsrael
NPT statusNPT member, non‑nuclear‑weapon state. Not an NPT member.
IAEA safeguardsComprehensive safeguards agreement in force. No comprehensive safeguards on all facilities.
Legal basis for inspectionsBinding via NPT, safeguards, and UNSC resolutions.Only limited facility‑specific arrangements; no binding full‑scope regime.
Frequency/detail of requestsRegular, detailed IAEA reports and access demands to specific sites (e.g., Isfahan, bombed sites). Periodic political calls (Arab states, others) for IAEA access and NPT accession, but no standing inspection mandate.
Consequences of non‑cooperationCan trigger or affect UN sanctions and formal “non‑compliance” findings. Mainly political criticism; no equivalent UN sanctions regime tied to inspections.

If you want, I can pull out concrete recent examples of specific IAEA inspection requests to Iran and specific UN or IAEA resolutions mentioning Israel by date and wording.

So why attack Iran?

Netanyahu has many reasons, he is attacking Iran from the air and wants to attack on the ground as well. Ground attacks on Libya show the route that Israeli troops will take to get there. The claim from Israel that they need to destroy Hezbollah, but we all know that you can't destroy an idea, and at some point people have to sit down at the table and talk.

The attack takes people eyes from Gazza which is still in a terrible state needing more support and help to rebuild it's infrastructure.

Trump is doing what he always does, he is trying to distract from personal issues in this case. Around the world people are being arrested as a result of investigations into the Epstein files and yet the USA has arrested nobody, not one person involved with the terrible crimes associated with those files.

As mentioned previously, Trump is a paedophile with plenty of evidence in the Epstein files as demonstrated in the previous post. The whole ICE travesty was a distraction and so is this war.

How sick do you have to be to sexually assault children and then arrest people without cause or legal defence and then invade another country so you don't get arrested and prosecuted? Trump is a convicted felon and people need to stand up to him.

I'm calling on leaders around the world, from local politicians to heads of government and heads of state to stand up to this sick fool of a man and to make him accountable for his actions.

The attacks on Iran are illegal.

Now don't get me wrong, I do not support the way Iran treats it's citizens, nor do I support the way they permit illegal organisations to train on their soil, but when you go to war with a country you need a legal and justifiable reason. Neither Israel or the USA have a reason that meets the criteria, they have acted illegally and should be held accountable.

There used to be very little conflict in this region before the state of Israel was created, (yes, remember it was created).

The people of Palestine were Muslims, Christians and Jews and they lived side by side for hundreds of years. Yes there were occasional "tiffs", but mostly they were peaceful. But, Israel keeps trying to grab territory, they are overcrowded but instead of addressing that issue internally, they want to steal territory. Trump really doesn't give a shit about that, he is happy to work with someone who is like him in many ways; arrogant, ignorant and greedy.

This war needs to stop, Israel needs to be held to account and so does the USA.

I wish someone in the British Government would stand up and chastise them, but we have a wimp of a leader who is worried that he will get whipped by Trump who has been ignorant in his flippant comments about the UK. Tell him that he is not fit to govern, kick the American troops out of UK bases and stop dealing with them until Trump is gone.

When the USA has a leader who understands global politics and can speak to people respectfully, then reinstate the use of bases in the UK.

I'm ex-military, the troops understand, they won't care, real politicians would understand, Trump would have a right tantrum and impose high tariffs that will do more to hurt the American economy, so why worry. His actions against Iran have already caused problems globally.

Oil

Oil companies need to calm the fuck down as well, the UK has 5 years worth of oil reserves, so why have the prices at the pumps jumped 10p a litre? Oil companies buy several months in advance, apply increased in costs immediately and drop prices when they feel like it - greed.

I'm sick of the global economy, it affects the ordinary man in the street badly every time while the rich don't give a shit.

Again, this is the fault of Netanyahu and Trump, the war is illegal and the price hikes are greed.
